Re: Having Boot Issues System is Down
djemos, This installation has been on this Dell 1525 for a couple of years now. I have it installed on a Solid State Drive. I did not upgrade the kernel, only the updates that come down. I checked using fdisk -l, and Gparted and see all of the partitions, Slackel = sda1 etx4, Puppy = sda2 etx4, 14gb ...

Re: Having Boot Issues System is Down
Booting with USB live, I can see /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2 using Gparted. Neither are showing as full sda1 = 78.12 GiB, used 12.43. But there is no disk listed in the cat /etc/fstab command, neither sda or hda. Running the e2fsck -v -y /dev/hda1 does not fix the issue. I'm thinking my fstab file is ...

Having Boot Issues System is Down
djemos, I am getting the following: Attempt to remount root device as read-write failed! This is going to cause serious problems. If you're using the UMSDOS filesystem, you **MUST** mount the root partition read-write! You can make sure the root filesystem is getting mounted read-write with the 'rw ...

Re: Friday the 13th Updates System is broken!
Thanks for everyone's help. I got my system restored without having to reinstall from scratch. I had to use the live usb method to get things working again. In order to get the ncurses-6.0, file I had to cd into /tmp and download using: wget ftp://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/linux/slackware/slackware64-current ...

Re: Friday the 13th Updates System is broken!
Maras, The x-server is not starting and I have no terminal to enter this command in my system. I am using live usb to type this response. After the grub screen, the Slackel 14.2 boot selection is made and I get the following messages: [ 3.430195] EXT4-fs (sda1). couldn't mount as ext3 due to feature ...

Slackel Running on SSD
djemos,
I am running Slackel on a Solid State Drive. Do you know of any configuration changes that should be made under Slackware?
Looking for this information on the internet, there is not much out there for Slackware.
Other Linux distributions have changes to the fstab file, etc.
Regards,
David
